BURNHAM
FAMILY FARM MARKET
The Burnham Family Farm Market is situated on one small
piece of a 400-plus acre farm. The farm has been in the
Burnham family since the early 1800's. Up until 1995,
milking cows was the predominant use of the operation.
In 1994, the market land was purchased and the Market
was born.
The
Burnhams now farm 550-acres, consisting of 410 owned
by the family and 140 rented acres. They grow corn,
soybeans, wheat, white beans, hay, strawberries, raspberries,
apples, and pumpkins. Some of the crops are for market
and some are grown as cash crops (soybeans, corn, and
wheat sold to country elevators).
The
market opens each year in June to mark the strawberry
season and closes right before Christmas.
