Just east of town is the largest airbase in Canada.
Since
1929 it has witnessed Canada participation in world
events through wars and peacetime. Be sure to visit
the RCAF Memorial Museum. Watch as they work rebuilding
a Halifax bomber or visit their gift shop.
Canada's
Oldest White Settlement at Carrying Place
South of Trenton at Carrying Place you are treading
the route of generations of Native explorers, settlers
and soldiers. This ancient portage route between Lake
Ontario and the Bay of Quinte, is the oldest road in
Ontario. Here, in 1668, the first white settlement was
established.
